THE STUDIO

Plastic Box Recording Studio started in 1982 in Redford MI.

At that time we had an analog 4 track TEAC recorder, a hand built 10 channel mixer and a pair of JBL monitors.

We acquired a TEAC 8 channel analog recorder and used that for 5 years.

During this time we stocked the effects arsenal with current pieces of that era.

We also purchased new, a Roland TR-909 drum machine that is still in use today.

Since the ADAT digital recording had come out, we included the digital format.

We bought a Mackie mixer,  and one step at a time (8 channels) moved to 24 channels of ADAT.

At that time we purchased the Behringer 32 channel board.

Our final move was to a Focusrite DAW with 18 discrete digital channels of input and output using Ableton Live 9.
